MOMBASA PORT AND ITS IMPACT  Mombasa has had ownership of the port and operations running since the time the Portuguese and Arabs came to East Africa for slave trade in the 18th century. In December 2019 however, the previous government shifted the operations from Mombasa to Naivasha. In September 14th this year, the new government ordered the return of the port back to Mombasa. Yes, because there's totally nothing more important than me and my well being. We wake up daily to ensure we don't starve to death. We ensure we don't expose ourselves to danger because we value life. We want to live another day. But why is it that we can just let someone and anyone play with our feelings? We keep letting them in again and again just because we maybe created endless memories with them. Or we are afraid of being alone.
