MOMBASA PORT AND ITS IMPACT  Mombasa has had ownership of the port and operations running since the time the Portuguese and Arabs came to East Africa for slave trade in the 18th century. In December 2019 however, the previous government shifted the operations from Mombasa to Naivasha. In September 14th this year, the new government ordered the return of the port back to Mombasa. The port has brought immense growth to the economy of Mombasa. Both positively and negatively. Its residents and especially those with qualifications have benefited with jobs hence reducing the dependency rate. Mombasa has gotten back its pride since the port is one of the many things it's known for and what makes it unique compared to other cities. LET THEM GO! Right now as I lay on my bed am thinking, is there anything more precious than my peace of mind? The only answer am getting is nothing. Yes, because there's totally nothing more important than me and my well being. We wake up daily to ensure we don't starve to death. We ensure we don't expose ourselves to danger because we value life. We want to live another day. But why is it that we can just let someone and anyone play with our feelings? We keep letting them in again and again just because we maybe created endless memories with them. Or we are afraid of being alone. I totally don't get it.  Can you imagine keeping on bringing someone close who is clearly causing you tears and pain every time you're together? Where else it's clear you're happier and flourishing when not with them. But we never lack excuses. We always have something good to say about them.
